LAHORE: According to the schedule released by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the election for NA-154 will be held on February 12.
ECP will start accepting
the nomination
papers from
December 26-28 and will release the list of selected candidates on January 16, 2018. The elections symbols will be allotted on January 18.
The seat
was left vacant following Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) former general secretary Jahangir Tareen’s disqualification by the Supreme Court (SC). Tareen was disqualif
ied over for not disclosing his property abroad. Following the judgement, Tareen also resigned from his post as the general secretary.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan was cleared by the court in the same case.
