The 213th Corps Commanders on Tuesday paid a rich trib
ute to martyrs as the country prepares to observe upcoming Defence Day, said and Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided o
ver the conference held at the General Headuarters (GHQ). “213th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at GHQ presided by General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS),” ISPR Director General (DG) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said.
“[The] forum paid rich trib
ute to [the] martyrs of Pakistan on the eve of Defence and Martyrs Day 2018.”
The statement added that the army top brass discussed the evo
lving geo-strategic environment and progress of oper
ation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
The DG further said, “COAS directed that field form
ation should reach out to families of martyrs in their respective areas as mark of respect and acknowledgment of their great sacrifices.” On Au
gust 29, the army chief visited South Waziristan where he was apprised of the stabilis
ation operations and progress of fencing along the Pak-Afghan border at Angoor Adda.
